fuel

fuel

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

you fill me up when I thought I was empty

"
Thought the tank was
more or less empty
came in spits and spurts
thought it had
ground to a halt.

but I should have known
you can't resist
pumping your venom
spewing your stench
slathering on your lies;
shaving the bits of me
from the face
of my happiness
without you.

you fuel me,
rev me up
and wind me;
each time you do it
you find me
a little harder
to infiltrate
than the time before.

From now on it's
premium fill only...
can't use me
to dump your load
anymore.
