A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

the predominant subject of my life.

"

Even as
you tried
to
graft
your lies
to my heart
I grew apart
from you

Thank you so much for stopping by.
Damnit, KL! How do you do this to me? You really have a way of saying the words that linger in my heart. It's amazing how similar we are. What's even more amazing is that people always think we'll keep believing the lies. xo (:

Yes if they say them enough times ... thanks for the review.:)
I love this one KLG...It almost could turn into a haiku. Its like a person who had an organ transplant. The body starts rejecting it. It started to have an autoimmune process attacking what doesn't belong their in the first place. Just few words but you some up everything here...

Thank you for noticing this short piece.
Ooh. Wow, K, this is short, intense, and to the point. And obviously, it's true...hang in there. We are here to help support you, if only by reading your work and talking to you.

As for the poem itself, its shortness helps add to its power. It's very rhythmic, and almost like a heartbeat in a way. That "heartbeat" feel of it gives it life, so to speak. And how appropriate that you say "graft your lies to my heart," because the sound and the words go together so well.

I always enjoy your poetry, K, no matter how somber the subject. Keep on writing!
