wrap
me up in paper chains
and fool's gold

vows
on paper you forgot
while you cursed and
spit and bellowed --

lies
on paper; promises
you made and broke
like brittle toothpicks

ties
on paper cannot bind me;
keep me from doing
what I want to

how you now want
