Gone Too Soon

Gone Too Soon

A Chapter by therisa

One by one
We disappear
Like falling stars
From the nighttime sky
Never to shine
Again.

For most
No one notices
Our absence
Except for
Close family
And friends.

Becoming
An stat to compile
In a database
On suicide rate
Among the LGBT+ community.

Want to believe
It gets better
But my experiences
Says otherwise
As the bloodletting
Continues.

Mourning
The lost
Of another generation
Just discovering
Themselves.

it is really sad to just disappear---many young people don't fathom how much it hurts those they leave behind when they take their own lives...but in this day and age, the pressures are immense, even for the youths of this world. Those falling stars who fell out of the sky much too soon.

it is so sad...so many don't get to live full lives---life is short, but i think the memory is long.
