Dwight D Eisenhower is number 34.
As a teenage injured his leg because of infection.
As a result was forced to repeat his freshman year of high school.
A good thing came out this; His leg healed completely.

Dwight D Eisenhower and his wife had two sons. 
One died of scarlet fever and the other was born n 1922.
This sons is still living his name is John.
Dwight D Eisenhower's son John married the Daughter of Richard Nixon. (Eisenhower's Vice President.)

Dwight D Eisenhower in WW2 was elevated to the rank of 5 star general and supreme commander of the Allies. 
He is only one of 5 men to ever hold a 5 star rank. 
He oversaw the D-Day invasion in 1944. 
As Commander of the Allies he was the most powerful military man in the world.

Dwight D Eisenhower was the first president of all 50 states. 
He was the first to have a pilot's license.
He was also the only 20th century president to be bald.
He became the first president appear on color television.

Dwight D Eisenhower played football in college.
Even though he was an athlete he smoked four packs of cigarettes a day. The doctor told him to cut back; he quit. 
He was the last president to be born in the nineteenth century.
He signed a bill creating NASA. (spacey huh)

Dwight D Eisenhower wrote a book that earned 475,00.(The Crusade in Europe)
He held more news conferences than any other presidents. (193)
He was the first president to fly in a helicopter and have exclusive Jet.
He flew to Europe aboard "Air Force One".

Dwight D Eisenhower signed the first Civil Right legislation in 1960.
This bill addressed the rights of African Americans to vote.
He sent troops to Arkansas to protect African American students trying to enroll in Little Rock High School.
He met with Martin Luther King Jr. and Philip Randolph on June 23, 1958.

This is Dwight D Eisenhower number 34. 
He was first to be color TV. 
He liked to eat TV dinner while watching westerns.
I guess you could call him a commercialized president.

I didn't know much of anything about Eisenhower's wartime accomplishments, or how few people held the rank of 5 star general. Thank you for illuminating this fascinating man.
