Warren G Harding ( President #29) (1921-1923)

A Chapter by MandaBear
"

Twenty Ninth President of the United States of America

"
Warren G Harding is number 29.
Like some of the other presidents he didn't want to be president.
Of course some people didn't think he was very good.
Maybe that's why he was only president for 2 years.

Warren G Harding was first to ride to his inauguration in an automobile.
He was first president to be broadcasted  on the radio.
It was for dedication of the Francis Scott Key memorial at Fort  McHenry in Baltimore.
He was first to visit Canada and Alaska.

Warren G Harding went to the south to denounce the KKK.
He supported anti lynching movement.
He once worked for a newspaper and also tried teaching.
Once he gambled away a set of white house china.

Warren G Harding once made it a point to not use his power to help the farmers and people without jobs.
He thought everyone who worked hard could make it without help.(Well, excuse me princess)
He even signed a series of bills/amendments into law that neglected the farm industry.

Warren G Harding was apart of the Teapot Dome scandal.
This was were he illegally rented oil fields.
Some people said he was one of the most corrupt.
He was the only president to have his father outlive him.

It as later believed that he was poisoned.
Warren G Harding some people also say he died form a heart attack.
Whatever had taken away Warren G Harding it is safe to say he was a unique.
He only had a short time but I am sure given the chance he might have done something worth remembering.

He was a good President. Didn't have a lot of time to do a lot. Thank you for the information on a great President.

Hehe yeah I remember that guy as well. He was the president during the Great Depression when the dustbowl was hit really hard. I love the humor you use in this poem to describe him even though a lot of people didn't really care for him much at the time.
