Calvin Coolidge (President #30) (1923-1929)

A Chapter by MandaBear
"

Thirtieth President of the United States of America

"
Calvin Coolidge was number 30.
As a boy his favorite activity was making maple syrup.
He enjoyed eating pancakes.
He loved to have Vaseline rubbed on his had while eating breakfast in bed. (Okay?)

Calvin Coolidge was the only president to be born on the 4th of July.
He became the president in the middle of the night.
He is the only president to be sworn in by his father.
He never flew in a plane or owned a car.

It was said that a reporter told Calvin Coolidge that he bet someone he could get him to say more than two words. The president looked and gave a smile and said "You Lose".
He signed into law the immigration act of 1924 which limited the amount of immigrates coming into the country.
He was referred to as "most photographed person on earth" because he used the media to his advantage during his presidency.

Calvin Coolidge's wife was close friends with Helen Keller who was both deaf and blind.
He had a pet raccoon named Rebecca that he let roam around the white house.
He became a writer and wrote his memoirs and a syndicated newspaper column.
He later died of coronary thrombosis.

So this was Calvin Coolidge number 30.
He had some interesting habits I must say.
He seemed to really like pancakes.
I wonder if the Vaseline he used smelled like maple syrup?
