Grover Cleveland (President #24) (1893-1897)

A Chapter by MandaBear
"

Twenty- Forth President of the United States of America

"
Grover Cleveland is number 24.
We are here to tell you more.
I hope you didn't didn't miss him to much.
Are you ready? Here we go!

Grover Cleveland was number 22 and 24.
He is the only president to serve 2 non consecutive terms.
Unlike his first term his second one didn't go so well.
I see a trend happening. Do you?

Grover Cleveland had to have secret surgery.
He got cancer of the mouth.
He didn't want the American people to know so they wouldn't worry.
No one found out until his death.

Grover Cleveland was the first to be married in the white house.
He had a daughter Baby Ruth.
Yes, My friends The Baby Ruth candy bar was named after Grover's daughter.
Not named after Babe Ruth the Baseball Player. (Strike One)

Grover Cleveland was a democrat.
There hadn't been one in 24 years before Cleveland was in office.
While in office Grover Cleveland felt there should be no high taxes on goods brought from the other countries.
He wanted to increase foreign trade.
At least he was trying the second time to do good like the first time.

Grover Cleveland was many things.
He was a sheriff, a president, a brother but not a father.
It was said he had a child out of wedlock.
They made up a rhyme for him "Ma Ma, where's my pa? Gone to the white house ha,ha,ha. (No evidence was found to prove or disprove)

That's all for this episode on Grover Cleveland.
Thank you for joining us.
Come back next time when we learn about William McKinley.
Thank you and goodnight.

Hm, you forgot to mention his weight. "Grover Cleveland, really fat, elected twice as a democrat."
I find it funny how there wasnt a democrat in office for twenty four years, and he also later became the twenty fourth president.
