Chester A Arthur ( President #21) (1881-1885)

Chester A Arthur ( President #21) (1881-1885)

A Chapter by MandaBear
"

Twenty-First President of the United States of America

"
Chester A. Arthur is number 21.
He had 80 pairs of pants and changed them often.
Why? Your guess as good as mine.
He was a sharp dressed man ( ZZ-Top song inspiration )

Chester A. Arthur fought in the civil war. (imagine that)
He even fought for an African American women.
She was thrown off a streetcar because of her race. (sound like anyone you know?)
He won the case and the women got 500 dollars for damage.

Chester A. Arthur liked to fish.
He would often be fishing on his leisure time.
I wonder if he ever caught any?
I guess the early bird gets the worm.

Chester A. Arthur didn't have an inaugural address.
He also didn't have a Vice President.
He did have a secretary of war.
It just so happened to be Robert Todd Lincoln.

Chester A. Arthur was instrumental in organizing the time zones of the world.
The International Meridian Conference was held.
They determined the Prime Meridian of the world.
I hope they did it in a timely manner.

Chester A. Arthur died of a fatal Kidney failure.
Upon his death all of this personal papers were burned he felt his personal business was no ones business.
I think the presidents that followed him should have taken that advice.
I guess you could say his secrets must have been hot.

A very good description of a interesting President. He did many changes. Few we will remember. I like this one the best so far. A good description of a great President. Thank you.

Haha I liked the ending, Amanda I learn a little more about the political history of America through you and for that i'm humbled. I love educating myself through various media sources rather than reading a book. And this is the most creative way to stay informed.
