Prelogue

It happens so fast. 

One grabs my wrists, twisting them harshly behind my back. I cry out. Zane rushes to my side, punching one in his face, knocking him to the ground. He lunges at the one holding me down, but another one of the men strikes him with something hard, and he falls to the floor, blood flowing from his head. He's not moving. Eneko lays on the ground unconscious, one of them standing over his limp body. I’m screaming Zane’s name​​, the monsters taking over me. I try to fight them off, but they are too strong. One of them shoves a cloth over my mouth.

                                       

          And everything goes black.

Certainly a dark and grim start to a story. I'm hoping it lightens from here.
