Chapter Eight~Jocks, Horndogs, & Drama Queens

The doctor told us that Matt would be in the hospital for at least 2 weeks, and I visited him everyday. It had scared his father so bad that he had come back and brought Cari (Matt’s little sister) with him. “Aurora!” Cari said as she walked into the hospital, ”Hello Cari, how are you?” I say, Cari was Cory’s age (4) and the sweetest little girl ever. “I’m okay, just worried about the big dummy head.” she giggles, I take her to see Matt who is asleep, but not for long because Cari jumps right on him and tells him to get up. I love his family, their so crazy and full of life, and Cory absolutely adores Cari, he tells me that she is the only girl he will ever be smitten with.After a while,
everyone leaves but me, Matt had fallen asleep so I just stared out the window. I hear the door open then close and when I turn around I see McKenna. “So. You just think Matt is going to love you forever, don't you? Well your wrong, once he gets what he wants from you he will kick you to the curb.” she says in a hasty tone, I can't stop myself, in a flash I have her hair in my hands and I’m dragging her across the floor. She punches me in the gut, and bites me, I kick her in the face and stop and back away. I was a monster, I had made her bleed, I ran to get the nurse and they took her into a separate room. I was a little relieved when I see Matt hadn’t woke, I walk out to ask the nurse if McKenna is alright and when she says yes I decide to leave. I may never look at her the same again.

The next day at school I found out two things, one I have a lot of homework, and two McKenna had told everyone I beat her up. I walked down the halls with eyes watching me the whole time, it was really unnerving. I tried to ignore the eyes, and whispers, I see Arianna and run to her. “Ignore them all.” she says in a loud enough tone everyone can hear. Then I see Tanner (one of Matt’s football buddies) walk up with Matt’s jersey. “This is for you, and Matt says don’t be sad he forgives you.” he gave me the jersey and walked away. It made me feel warm inside, even though I was thought of as a monster, he still loves me.The rest of the day was fine, because I felt like Matt was with me, he kept texting me too, which helped, he asked me if I would come by and, like the wimp I am, I gave in and said yes. “How long do you think it will take you to get here?” Matt texted while I was still in Chemistry, “Miss Tree, are you paying attention?” my teacher asked, “Yes, sorry”, “Now back to what I was saying, you will all be assigned a partner, and I’m putting it on the bulletin now.” I really hoped I got Matt as a partner, it would give me peace of mind knowing he wouldn’t be with McKenna. I got up to see:
•    Josh and Kassi
•    Tarren and Lola
•    Kevin and Lily
•    McKenna and Matt
•    Aurora and Mason
I was so furious I could scream, not only was Matt with McKenna but I was also with the other guy McKenna liked, Mason. Speaking of the devil, he walk right up to me as if I was his girl and said “Tonight, my place, bring some pajamas it could be an all nighter.” and I begin to feel nauseous.
