Love is a trick… and what a cruel trick it is.

Love isn’t real… love is an illusion.

Love isn’t everlasting. It isn’t unconditional. It isn’t wonderful.

Love doesn’t protect. Love doesn’t ensure. Love doesn’t promise.

Love is a temporary illusion that does nothing but hurt and hurt and hurt.

Love is a promise…

…And promises are lies.

Promises are lies told to make the weak feel better.

To make them feel safe.

Promises are always broken.

Every.

Single.

Time.

Promises aren’t strong, durable, everlasting cables between two people’s hearts.

Promise are weak, flimsy, temporary threads between two people’s hearts.

It breaks. Leaving nothing but pain and more pain.

Love is a lie.

Promises are lies.

But don’t lies feel better than truths?
