My cliché- Unrequited Love

My cliché- Unrequited Love

A Chapter by Wondering Mind
"

It shouldn't rhyme

"

A thorn-bird, my love song does bleed

I sadly die singing my fateful plead

No dawn to dance in the darkness of skies

And sorrow slays the smiles in my eyes

Pleading, a child, my love dwells denied

At closed gates remains cruelly deprived

Blood brews bitter as my days go by

Fermented by what-if, where, and why

Questions I ask to answer my quest

Why love was jade, my craving her jest

my longings slaughtered at the altar of love

like a helpless lamb or a crying dove

So no harp plays music in halls of my heart

And to no end this journey sees to my start

TAO
Maybe everybody's cliche, put to word with skill absolute as the darkness of a cold, lonely Universe.

Great poem. I love the idea of the thornbird and the blood. Nice imagery.

in any season
