Chapter 9 : Parents Past 6

Emerthelil PoV:

After calming down and reassuring a panicked Mesanth that I was ok I started packing 
his belongings together. I did not have anything I could call my own, and started tearing 
up again ,thinking of my old home and family, but I still remembered the words of my mother.

you now have to be strong

And

you shouldn't blame anybody else other than your father's killers

And so I stubbornly wiped my tears away while doing my task. 
Finished I looked around making certain that I did not forget anything.

Sitting on the ground and waiting for Mesanth to come back I was absorbed 
in my memories of my mother and father, of their love. 
Suddenly this dream became a nightmare as my mother's eyes turned lifeless 
and the world crumbled around me. 
I woke up being shaken by Mesanth who wore a worried expression , 
but he did not ask what was up and only gave me a bag and said

"Your things".

I looked at him without comprehending what he wanted. 
He looked annoyed but just pointed at the bag and then a little pile of clothes right next to me 
and I understood that he let his soldiers make clothes especially for me. 
I was nearing tears again.

But it was also quite funny the more I understood of his language the quieter he became 
so I just started to laugh, looked at him with a kind glance and started packing "my" things.

I felt happy ... 
Finally, after a long time, positive feelings started to warm me. 
And he was the reason. 
At this moment, I vowed that I would do something for him to pay him to pack even if 
I had to stick with him for a long time ... 
And somehow this felt kind of good, thinking about spending my time with him , 
eventually even my *blush* life.

2 weeks later - Border of Solaris

The trip to Solaris was eventful. Emerthelil, after coming out of her forest after 4 
years and even before in her 12 years with her parent's which, 
didn't allow her outside of their village, 
saw the outside world for the first time and of course she asked questions ...

Many questions .... 
Many many questions.

She did not know what plant it was that bloomed on the roadside ... She asked. 
She did not know what towns they passed ... she asked. 
She did not know of the different species in the world ... She asked. 
She did not know the history of the world ... So she asked for stories. 
She did not know their common sense ... So she gave examples and 
demanded answers as to how to behave .

And of course every evening, she beat the soldiers 
as a part of her social rehabilitation when they got too near to her.

When they reached the border they were welcomed by the royal family 
and their ambassadors of all the small islands that were in the land of Anguis ... 
And that were a lot.

Just before they meet them Mesanth took her aside and talked to her

" Emerthelil"

he never addressed her with her full name only ever calling her "Theli" or "Sweetheart" 
so it had to be serious.

"I ask of you to act as if you hate me and as if you were my slave. Do you understand?"

" No, I don't . 
Mesanth I think you should explain yourself. 
Even if it is normally ok to only tell me a thing or two to make me understand what you mean, 
this matter you have to explain."

*glare*

" And don't you dare glare at me! 
You know full well that even if I can not defeat you, I can still make you a eunuch. 
So don't provoke me !"

" Where did my sweet small elf go that could not sleep alone at night 
and needed me to hug her to sleep ? *cry*"

*glare and kicking his shin*

"Aouch !!! Theli that hurts !"

"Shut up ! Don't be such a baby! Now tell me what is up !"

... *sniff* 
*glare*

" Eeack ! Ok,ok! (Woman are scary !!!) 
You remember when I told you about my family right ?"

" Yeeees?"

"And you remember when I told you how rare you are right ?"

"Yeeees?"

"And also, that I told you I love you ?"

*blush* 
"Yes." *blush*

"Do you remember me, telling you how elves are threatened in my country? 
How they are slaves of nobles and almost never wives? 
And that I am a king without a queen and my family hates me so they will try to marry me 
to someone that hates me to make my life miserable ? 
And that you would be in danger in this country 
as long as you do not have a powerful male backing you up ?" 
( He spoke faster and faster almost running out of breath)

*frown*

"You told me about your family hating you and the status of elves in your county 
but everything else is new .... Don't tell me ... "

" I know it is a lot and I know you are thinking about every possibility there is 
what I am going to say next ... 
That is one thing I love about you. 
And so ...."

*kneeling down in front of her*

"Sweetheart ... Will you marry me ?"
