But I can't...

But I can't...

A Chapter by Nix is typing...
"

I just wish...

"

So many unspoken words I wish to say

But I can’t

So many unasked questions

Swirl inside my brain

My brain keeps importuning me

I want to ask

But I can’t

So many things I want to do

With you

To you

For you

But I can’t

The tintinnabulation of all these questions

Ringing in my head

I plead to ask

I beg

But I can’t

So many unsaid words

Wanting to be spoken...

Needing to be said…

Yearning to be asked…

But I can’t

There's so much you want to say but you can't. Why? Do you not know what exactly you want to say? You don't know how to say it? Do you want to talk to this person alone? Don't want to be embarrassed? It's hard when there is someone and you want to say something to them. What if it's the wrong thing? You said that to them in front of their friends. That's a tough thing to live down.
Unasked questions in your brain. Do they have a friend you can talk to? Is there someone you can get advice from? A sounding board? Is there anyone who can help you? You have things to do. There are other tasks but it's hard to focus when someone is on your mind like this. What if you could be with this person? What if this person felt the same way as you did? How easy everything else could be. Not only do you know but it's the answers you wanted to hear. Questions ringing (or tintinnabulating) in your head. Your head will not, can not stop. You are enamored with this person. If only,,,
I think a lot about one person in high school. I took her to the prom. I never got the courage to ask her out after that. I wish I did. I was bummed when we didn't go out after that. If only I had spoken up. If only I had said something. If only...
So, my question is this: What is it that is preventing you from talking to this person. Why are you not able to just speak to them and break the ice. No one expects you to shout it from the rooftop and let everyone know how you feel. You plead. You beg. You obviously want to but can't. You don't. Why? How much happier would you be if you were able to break through? You express yourself well. Your frustration shows in this work. You tell the reader your feelings and what you want. Good writing. You speak of your emotions. Your feelings. Your frustrations. You write for the world to see how you feel and where your head and heart are. It's a nice message. You are a good person and you are willing to show this person how good you can be for them. Imagine what the two of you could do together.

Sometimes thinking like this can drive one crazy. The great Sherlock Holmes said "Work is the greatest cure for sorrow." Usually when I get this way, I work and take my mind off whatever problem I am facing, or whatever person. I like the flow of the words in this poem; the meter is very clever. Nice work!

I've liked this guy since I was on 7th grade,I was never able to say what I wanted. But maybe after reading this I will confess.

Have you ever heard of a "Token ____" (like guy, girl, they). In my friend group we refer to the person you can't get over as the Token Guy. The one who you wished things happened differently with, or the one who occupies your thought. It's hard to let them go (I had to unfriend my off of Facebook) in order to move past and allow some room for new thoughts!

Really great job!

With this poem you have said something so unique that most of us fail poorly at articulating! The hesitation! The Tintinnabulation! It always gets to us before we get to our words! I feel the tremulous heart. I feel the love trembling in fear within! Superb! Awesome! I love this poem!

I feel bad for them. I think we all just need to take leaps of faith at times....the fear if getting hurt has hurt me more in the, long run.

Saying nothing can cause as much pain as saying the wrong thing. You conveyed the conflict inside, well here. All good wishes Nix.

Well done Nix. The poem reads clearly ... the angst is understandable ... so many things are at work here which you have stated quite well.
You're at an age which some of us greybeards barely remember, but the emotional aspects of the feelings expressed are palpable.
I seem to remember having thoughts like this quite a bit as a young man.

Thanks for bringing those thoughts back to the forefront.

I do like that you say you write no matter what ... like you have no control over it. From what I read I'd say let it roll you are a prettty good writer.

Stay safe
