Fleeting Moment

Inspired by Frankie's story "The downstairs apartment" || A poem about two lovers who met each other online and can only be together for one night

Maybe one day

Maybe just for one night

We can run away together

Let our passions ignite

This day’s been waiting for us

For far too long a time

I’ve wanted to feel in real life

The love you’ve given me online

The love that’s made my life so sublime

So today, just this once,

I’ll sway from the mundane

That reality displays

And run away with you

And let our love and passions thrive

And strive to drive our love alive

Maybe you’ll whisper in my ear how much you love me

When our bodies are pressed together close

Maybe you’ll tell me how you’ve been waiting for this

How you wished we didn’t have to say “Adios”

But for now, love

While we’re in this fleeting moment, just me and you

I give myself to you fully

To show you that my love is true

Tonight, you’ll hold me close

As you nibble on my ear

Soft kisses exchanged between us

Forgetting all our fears

A memory that’ll stay with us for years

I know tomorrow, we have to say our goodbyes

But I only got one night with you, baby

Maybe someday, I’ll have you altogether

A magical night encased in my memory forever

I won’t be able to contain myself at the airport

So I’ll try to hide my eyes

I know you’d never be able to leave if you saw my tears

But you brought me love like never before

So I got one last kiss

And said goodbye to the man I adore

It's sad but worth it, to love someone from afar. it's not always easy. I know... I've been there. My story ended in heartbreak. He died before we could meet in person. I say "in person" because our souls definitely met.
