Perchance

Perchance

A Chapter by Wondering Mind
"

My goodbye

"

Though fate forced fortune to falter
And forever’s fire fade and subdue

Perchance past promise now departed
Breathes love’s lilies and lives anew

Though now your supple heart, it sways
To sweet serenades of someone new

No heavy hatred burdens my heart
And with well wishes I say adieu

May your meadows be forever green
Ardent sun shines your skies blue

May your spirit for always dance with joy
And true love your heart accrue

Very beautiful and positive. Good-byes are sometimes not so easy, but ironically this one does very well in saying I love you but I quess it wasn't supposed to be and I wish you the best.

The imagery is outstanding.
"May your meadows be forever green
Ardent sun shines your skies blue"

As well as the all the metaphors within in the prose. Speaks true to the heart and relatable in every way that is natural and acceptable.

wow this is a beautiful, powerful poem. i love the imagery in this with lines such as "may your meadows be forever green Ardent sunshine your blue skies". a wonderful write to the act of letting go of someone through death or simply the end of the relationship. wonderful write & read.

Oh but this does twix a heart which knows a good bye is tarnished by broken stems and windows fogged with sighs of regret and loss unbound. The decided Celtic lilt of this piece does lighten the deceptive good will perchance, but not lost is the broken heart stuttering in grieving defeat.

A truly heartfelt and loving disclosure, wm. God bless you.

Somehow you've managed to make "good-bye" a lovely word, yet there is still a hint of sadness creeping up between the lines somewhere. I've always said that if you really truly love someone, you only wish them well, even if their "well" isn't exactly the way you want it. This piece confirms that thought.

Wonderful imagery and meter... a very well written piece.

Lovely!

I loved the imagery, as well as the alliteration throughout the poem. Loved the first line. Beautiful.
