The Little Dog Laughed

The man in the moon

Saw a cow fly by

Doing the milkcow blues boogie

Makin flyin look so cool

Thought he’d try it

The little dog laughed

When he stumbled and fell

Down Heartbreak Hotel’s stairwell

Now he is a lonely man

Cuz he’s so far off track

He wonders if he will

Ever get back

When the dish and the spoon

Wearing their Chantilly lace

First heard on the grapevine

And then saw him

Crying in the gloom

Being concerned, they’d asked

Are you lonesome tonight

And to chase away his moody blues

He was given a pair of

Blue suede shoes

With them requesting they be

Returned to sender

An old hound dog

Named Danny boy

With a suspicious mind

And Spanish eyes

Followed that dream with him

Both knowing it was now or never

Even through stormy weather

And through Kentucky rain

Followed the wayward wind

Across that bridge over troubled waters

Joinin a night rider

Along the Rock Island Line

On a mystery train

With big wheels rollin

Shakin, n’ rattlin

From the loc-o-motion

Goin back to the Blue Moon

From which

They are never coming back

Cuz they were both all shook up

well this comes really close to accomplishing a goal I've had for awhile. A conversation between two where all things said are lyrics found in song. Read your piece through several times and makes me think your exposure to music might be very similar to mine. Fun read, gave my morning a lift. thanks for the post -carl
