Gone Electric

Gone Electric

A Chapter by Dave Brown

My old tin lizzie was a constant battle

Constantly cursed with every rickety rattle

With endless noise ricochetin each way

I couldn’t hear a word my wife would say

So, we decided to purchase an electric car

For an accessory, it came with a snack bar

And when you’re driving, its super quiet

Being the clincher, which had us buy it

The drive of this beauty is somekina stable

For conversing together, we’re more than able

While enjoying mega quality ooze from its pores

She grasped the occasion to list my chores

She eventually got from top to bottom

I was amazed at how many I’d forgotten

The longer that this quiet machine was used

I realized it was the wrong decision I’d choosed

We’ve gone back to our old noisy Tin Lizzy

Her list of chores had left me lost and dizzy

From that all electric, I’ve quite happily fled

Again, no longer hearing a word she’s said

Chooseding take a certain talent
I knew there was something suspicious about these damn electric cars.

See you at the gas pump.

unfortunately, but I do enjoy my old clunkers that I assume will be eventually doomed to oblivion.
i have a hybrid car, and it doesn't really have much character to define it .
Quiet, super-efficient and inexpensive yes, but such a lightweight compared to an ageing, cantankerous old friend :)

A fine read indeed, author Dave Brown. I must say, I commence the simplicity of enjoyment you silently praise through your works, the beauty of simplicity or simply just expressing appreciation to the ordinary life. I admire that greatly for I've endorsed in the works of such nature since I was but a learning toddler, regardless whether if they are products of Western or Eastern media. Simplicity, at times, are truly best. Thank you for sharing your work again today, and I wish you a nice day or night.
