Brandy didn't reply Mark's letter, Mark starts to miss her but he's too proud to admit it so he sent her another letter.

"
Dear Brandy,

I hope this letter finds you at well, you didn't reply my last letter, it might be the mail service or something, although I think you're still mad too and you won't write me back.
Leo and I arrived to a small town we're staying for few days, perhaps having a show or two, I would've called you but believe it or not they don't even have television in this town, yesterday I bought us guns, Leo disagreed but I told him we might need them, we had a good deal, I got the cash from a mortgage place for that golden watch you sent me for Christmas, I hope you're fine with that I'll get it back after being paid for those shows, we also made our own business cards, now we're officially businessmen.

We ran across few old friends of mine, you know one of them, remember Isak, the one who used to write lyrics with me, he was there too, we didn't talk too much although I miss those days.

Today I've found out that Leo is writing to someone, I read his letters while he was asleep, he always end them with "hope you stay forever young" I thought that they were such an appropriate last words, but to think of it; you're not Starlet.

I still pray for you at 3:33am although I didn't have any nightmares in two nights, but I was awake I had a lot of work to do, we're delivering whiskey boxes for extra cash, I have to go now the show is about to start, the waitress is calling me and she's holding a bottle of brandy, it's been a while since I last had a drink, I could really use some whiskey now, but no, I'll keep my promise, I don't know when I'll be able to write you and I don't know if you'd receive this letter but I'll always write you, be sane and be well.
Yours truly,
 Mark.

The second letter! It was good as a whole, the thing with this type of storytelling is the ability to let the characters and plot grow, and I think you did that well. Dan's still strapped for cash but proves responsible enough to do what he needs to, still remaining faithful to his promise (I assume he promised to stop drinking..?). Also, the fact that his traveling companion is also writing to a beloved added an extra layer to the story. And now my mind is reeling with all sorts of absurd possibilities as to why Brandy didn't respond to the first letter ~~~

Um, alot of personal hints and stuff similar to inside-jokes that an outside reader would not comprehend like: 'i still pray for you at 3:22a,..', there seems be a few punctuation errors here and there. And wow, a town with no television..Mark seems to be on the edge (financially) but thats the good part I guess, to figure out how to make a living out of moving around and selling stuff for cash. : ) Why is Brandy mad at Mark? Hmm..Still interested. Onto the next chapter.

A nice letter. Those people we can't forget. We do our best to hold on to. I have letters I did not sent. With age I'm glad I did not. I like the gentle feel and hope in this letter. A excellent letter.
