inside the conversation

inside the conversation

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

thoughts of love and life

"
one question

she came to think
it was
the kiss
but really,
it was
one question,
"Can I kiss you?"
that turned
the conversation
inward
--
surrendered
entirely
to that heat
that slow ember
that burns
years later.
the one question
that answered
his smile.
some words
are said
so often
they lose
their meaning.
and thus I hope
you know
exactly why
I use
the words
I do.

Some Days

beautiful moon
turns to
stray thoughts of you
as I survey the night sky.

you make me feel safe
when that's what I need

and slightly off balance
when required --

closer some days
than others,
the moon,
and you.

Love the trilogy of thought here KL, the memory of being asked, the completely relatable lack of meaning in repetition said but not felt and the confusion of wondering what mood will greet you today. All superb, but I am relating to the last piece the most right now, feeling that this is what I need to work at, giving the same thought and consideration to everything and all and not letting my mood shape my responses.

So many emotions in this one, KL. It is gentle, tender, romantic. It has a bit of melancholy even while giving hope for a bright future. I really liked it. Lydi**

Thank you for taking the time.:)
KL, first, Happy New Year to you and yours...

second I love this poem, a kiss that made him smile - special... and this 3rd part, gentle, romantic, and filled me with hope, the idea and feel of "closer" (the moon too)...

I have missed reading your poetry KL, sorry I've been away for a bit...

and often the questions of love are offered not with words but simply with expressions...and answered likewise.
