I created this group after hosting many contests on this site. I noticed that people are just unwilling to write an original poem for a contest. Instead they pick a poem (most of the time the poem doesn't even fit the topic of the contest) and submit it hoping by some chance their poem wins.
Entering a contest to me is like sending in your resume for employment. Those who use a standard resume and send to every job opportunity they come across usually find that their resume is chucked in the trash compared to those who write their resume specifically for that employment opportunity stand a much better chance at getting an interview. When a poet submits a poem in one of my contests that doesn't even meet the basic requirements for the contest and makes me think that they are lazy and without a creative muse willing to even try. I hate to be harsh but it is true.
I am looking for people willing to at least try, are you one of them?
