Ch. 10 Numb

Will gets out first

because I can't move.

He opens my door

and says my name,

quietly first.

"Riley..."

But I don't move or speak.

So he says it again.

"Riley."

"..."

So he says it again.

"RILEY."

I feel numb.

My legs won't do

what my mind is telling them to.

I don't know what to do.

I speak

because he looks worried.

"I can't feel my legs."

And because he's that kind of friend,

he unbuckles me,

picks me up,

and carries me into the house.
