Ch. 14 Mom v. Bro

Home is the last place I want to be
so I stay with Will
in his house.

I text my brother
instead of my mom.

My mom has been acting
extra mom-like.
She coddles me
and makes me desserts.
She never yells.
She just talks to me like I'm a child
and uses a sugarcoated voice
and slow, small words
like I suddenly can't speak English anymore.

Somehow,
she manages to do it over text messages too.

So I pick Johnny instead of my mom,
because he does it too.
Just not as much.
