Chapter Twelve

Chapter Twelve

A Chapter by Jennifer

Years have passed on planet Earth since Celestial Manifest was launched into space. It had been so long that the project was long forgotten. Technology has since advanced and saved humanity from extinction.

Bio hazards were converted into something useful. Products that were not biodegradable were reused and repurposed. Advanced filtration systems were added to water systems that filtered out toxins that were used to for fuel and energy.

The introduction of new technology created new jobs. People worked in fields to create useful products from garbage and enforcing environmental regulations. Waste became valuable as people used this as a resource for goods and fuel.

Factories and oil companies had no choice, but to make changes to accommodate the new supply demand. Oil quickly lost value. Everything they used to make or retrieve products caused grief to other people and to the planet. Laws were imposed on everything harmful to the planet and humans.

Slowly, Earth recovered from its illness. People had safe water to drink and food to eat. People could breathe again. The use of robots was reduced to the point where they were not really needed anymore. People could live without them.

Celestial Manifest was abandoned. At this point the shuttle was considered lost. Most believe that the crew ceased communication with them. Most people believed that the ones who controlled the robots were the ones who cut off communication.

Eli and a group of programmers addressed the government and NASA about the human life that was in space. They figured that the spacecraft was so far away take would not have survived. They were no longer receiving any information from it and they were not sure if their messages were received.

The government dropped the project once the remaining robot programmers have passed away. If everyone was gone the robots were no longer functional. The use of robots was nearly abandoned. They were reserved for jobs that humans can’t do.

Humans were no longer dependent on robots. People worked together for a better planet. The planet was a better. They no longer needed a new planet to live on.
