86. Don't Hit the Wolf

HOORAY FOR CLICHE PLOT DEVELOPMENTS~

*In Haven, Maine*

 

*Nathan is driving his truck with Audrey riding shotgun. In the backseat, Reid is sitting to the left, and Hotch to the right. Where am I? I’m sitting in the back. On the outside of the truck cabin. I sigh: no one likes me*

 

Me: NAAAATHAN…

 

Nathan: SHUSH.

 

Me: I’M BORED.

 

Audrey: We’ll be downtown soon enough.

 

Me: THANK GOD.

 

Reid: That’s not a good thing!

 

Me: YOU’RE NOT THE ONE THAT’S BORED, NOW, ARE YOU?

 

Reid: …

 

Me: THAT’S WHAT I THOUGHT.

 

*Suddenly, the wolf that is Brandon Grant jumps out in the middle of the road. Nathan panics and swerves to avoid hitting him. In doing so, he throws me out of the truck and onto the ground. The truck screeches to a stop, but I’m sitting directly in front of the wolf version of Brandon Grant, our eyes level with one another*

 

Nathan: Don’t… Move…

 

Hotchner: Olivia…!

 

*The wolf moves forward a little, and I put out my hand. His muzzle goes beneath it, making me pet him. It’s so weird, because I know that I’m petting a person, but it feels like a wolf. Then, his eyes meet mine, and I’m filled with a sense that I can help him. Somehow, someway, I know that I can help him*

 

Nathan: *slowly walks towards Brandon* I’m not going to hurt you…

 

Brandon: *panics and bolts away*

 

Hotch and Reid: *run to me*

 

Me: I’m… okay. *to Nathan* I have a proposition.

 

Nathan: I’m listening.

 

Me: Let Agent Hotchner and Agent Reid return to the BAU. And I’ll stay here with you for as long as it takes to help make sure that Grant doesn’t hurt anyone else ever again.

 

Nathan: *considers this*

 

Audrey: It’s a good idea. *to me* But how do you think you can help him?

 

Me: I just know. I looked into his eyes… And I know. *pauses* It sounds stupid, doesn’t it?

 

Audrey: Weirder things have happened.

 

Me: You have NO idea.

 

Hotchner: We’re not just going to LEAVE you here.

 

Me: Um, yeah you are.

 

Nathan: Fine. One more case off my hands sounds good to me.

 

Me: Great! Go back to Quantico, kiddies, and I’ll call when the case is done.

 

Hotchner: You have no idea how long that could take!

 

Me: You worked with seven people before. What do you need me for?

 

Reid: True…

 

Hotchner: Reid! You’re not supposed to agree with her!

 

Reid: But she’s right!

 

Me: I’m always right~ *grins*

 

Hotchner: Fine. FINE. But you better call.

 

Me: *to Nathan and Audrey* He’s a bit… overprotective.

 

Hotchner: What?

 

Reid and I: *crack up laughing*
