THE MOON (Lune)

THE MOON (Lune)

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

"For I have sworn thee fair, and thought thee bright, who art as black as hell, as dark as night." ---W. Shakespeare

"

As I look above
That moonlight,
It hides from the clouds.

I wait in distress
Gaze again
But darkness is there.

With regret I sit
Asking why
Where’s the shaft of light?

I consent it’s true
What they say
It glimmers just once.

Author's Note

Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
The LUNE. It is a short form invented and named by poet Robert Kelly in the 1960s out of a dissatisfaction with our Western use of haiku." To replace the haiku, he devised a 13-syllable poem written in 3 lines containing 5-3-5 syllables respectively, and not restricted by Japanese traditions. Kelly borrowed the form's name from the French word for moon because its right hand edge resembles a crescent moon. [The Teachers and Writers Handbook of Poetic Forms (1987)]

Thanks for dropping by, my friend.
Sometimes you admire something because of it's brightness. But suddenly you will know, it's not always as bright as you think.
