A Starless Sky

A Starless Sky

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay

This dilemma of letting you go,
or keeping you with me
is unbearable...
remember you once said:

"It doesn't matter
if we aren't together,
what does matter is you,
that among the million
stars I counted,
you were the one,
who shined brighter
every time I looked."

Some things are not easy to let go
but when the time comes,
you have to make the decision
of choosing what you want.

When life gives you choices
between having it your own way or
making the person you love,
happy and content,
I've decided to do the latter,
'cause although it hurts
but who does it hurt more than me?
After all, all I've cared
is for your happiness.
Even if it does mean that
I'll have a starless sky in
a world without you...

Wow... This is so powerful and I can relate to this really deeply right now. Its hard to let go of someone, especially if you care deeply for them. You want then to be happy, but sometimes it costs your own happiness.
This is really powerful and beautifully written. I love it

The difficult notion of letting go of one's love; knowing that it is the right thing to do even though it is a tragedy to the heart inside.

A well written piece. Full of longing and acceptance. An idea that is universal for all those in this world that have loved or been loved. Nice work.

First of all, it is wonderful to meet you, Yumna.
Why must there always be heartbreak with love? I suppose it is meant to test us somehow, to learn of our strength, and our weaknesses.

Your closing lines brought this well to its fruition..and I have the goosebumps to prove it!

Take care!

You are welcome dear...:)
Such an emotionally visual poem. Here and there moments that hurt, especially when.reading the second time. The finish has to be something final but oh my, it really magnifies the heartbreak, '.Even if it does mean that ~ I'll have a starless sky ~ A world without you...."

Imagine a world without stars.. the darkness must be horrific

Beautifully emotional, and such a realistic theme.
"I'll have a starless sky
A world without you" really spoke to me. I loved it.
