...while sadness lingers

...while sadness lingers

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

Experimental. A touch dreamy. Finished abruptly/mid-thought..

"

In between mid nights
washed with moon light,
I wondered then,
if sadness can be alluring.

But we are fooled,
and there's nothing left,
or at least nothing,
of importance, except

half- dreamed hallucinations
and broken wings,
while sadness lingers
upon her eye lids...

while sadness lingers

Moonlight is for romantics and lovers and here Dr Y, you have painted a picture of sadness with your words. There is emptiness here, that is touching. Expectations unfulfilled.

Your posted image is incredibly beautiful.

I do feel a certain connection with the moon and can never get bored of writing moon poems.

Moonlight, how can you not be lured by. Its beauty :)

This is emotional,
very well related piece.
When we sat tiredly,
feeling sleepy,
but still can't sleep.
eyes partly opened,
wearied by sadness.
watching moon overhead,
wishing all is well.

Well Expressed, Dr.

Thank you so much for appreciating and your words here, Kay. :)
Indeed, sadness can be alluring...there is a melancholy to most good poetry...especially the romantics...of which your poem would fit the mold. Life experiences can produce a sadness that lingers and the eyes...since they are the windows to the soul...would reflect that.

Moonlight, perfect for lovers...not so bad for assassins.

A good write, Doc. A bit different for you, but certainly compelling.

Ah, I suppose it's been a while since I wrote a dreamy piece, so it was nice to try this one ;)

Oh what beauty! I can see the sadness in this poem. The artistic nature of it is just so moving. Thank you for writing such a vulnerable poem.

Thank you so much for appreciating, Franco. Glad you like it :)
there is such an emptiness to sadness...i do think it can be alluring, but unfortunately when the emptiness is whole...there may be nothing left of the heart to give.
a very sad, wistful write,
j.

I think so too...
Thank you so much for your words here, Jacob.
Sad indeed, wistful words under the romantic moon... that promises but does not always deliver
