Experimental. Probably too fragmented but that's how my thoughts have been lately...

Painting A Canvas of Broken Promises

For once, I undressed
my emotions and laid them bare.
I set you free; the confines
of my mind, a cage.

I watched you soar
high above, while I dipped
my fingers, painting a canvas
of broken promises.

I left my mind, straying away
from the void buried deep;
you are drug to my craving heart,
it whispers ~ a quiet amen.

Moving, deeply emotional poem. The confrontation with oneself at the stripped bare level is daunting. Lovely language, form, flow, metaphor, imagery. “fingers painting a canvas of broken promises”- resonates...wishing you well in letting them go my friend...

Thank you for appreciating, SS :)
i like this a lot...its honest, vulnerable and true to life ...universal layered and the language is elegant yet common .. its the way you put it together that gives it such swaying movement .. and i instantly like the right hand orientation and your opening "...undressed...." quickened my heart and got my attention..a fine use of personification ..well done..so moved in the reading
