HUMAN (Narrative)

HUMAN (Narrative)

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

I am

"

He looked again at the mirror

“What have I done?” he told himself

“Did I really stand with honor?

Did I give necessary help?

Did I mention just polite words

And not those ones which are hurting?

Did I guide them with proper chords

When I heard them all singing?

Did I become the humble one

With nothing to proclaim as best?

When some things were not said and done

Have I acted to do the rest?”

Sadly he sat down and then cried

For nothing more he has to feel

But such guilt that he tried to hide

For he’s a human just for real.

He has broken his promises

The promised help was not given

But another fancy promise

Something just to be forgotten.

He spoke of many, many words

Some are healing, some are just fine

But when he got mad with the chords

He just stopped and then drunk his wine.

He stood with pride for all the times

Just like the champion and the best

But though some things proclaimed were lies

He didn’t care when he’s at rest.

And now he cried for what has done

With tears he whispered to the wind

“Forgive me, Lord, I am human

I am so guilty, I have sinned.”

Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)

For the words unintentionally given
For the acts unintentionally done
For the wrong thoughts
For the wrong deeds
For all the wrongs I have done
For being human...

Please forgive me.

I enjoyed the rhyme and message of this poem. To expect others to live up to our individual imagined ideals of perfection is in itself inhuman since the biggest sin of all could be to worship our imaginations. And by the way, we may only imagine what others imagined one generation after another till the intension of the original imaginator attenuates into nothingness. Naivety is the greatest human trait of all.

A remarkable introspection with good message, and goes to say that no one is perfect in this world for we are human only and prone to mistake.

My pleasure and you're welcome.
Beautiful poem, I feel a hearty observation through its warm slow rhythm .. for the info, God forgive sins if you repent, asking for forgiveness alone is not enough for repentance, you have to fix things or pay for the burden

We're all human with plenty of flaws, sometimes the hardest person to forgive is ourselves. Food for thought here Dhaye...

Thanks, Aethereal.
With humanity comes great capacity for love, joy... and sin. A well done reminder to see the whole of what it is to be human, and in need of forgiveness, Dhaye.

Thank you so much, Rita.
I guess we are good guys and bad guys...when we search inside.
Very nice my dear.
I have to apologize for being human sometimes..God knows me...he made me..he knows I'm human and subject to the human condition.
Some things we should do...some not..sometimes looking backwards is the only way to determine that..then it's too late.
Enjoyed the read my dear.
