Letter Seventeen: Of She From My Childhood

Dearest Claire,

Oh, you beautiful creature you, I am so fantastically glad I met you all those ten freakin' years ago at Sacred Heart.  It's weird how such a holy, religious place can seem to trap young, impressionable children like we were.  You and I pulled through just fine in the end, though, for which I am extremely thankful.  We maintain our own thoughts and our own opinions while escaping the corruption and fear I've seen a few of ex-classmates.  We were never the black-heartedly despairing demon children, nor the blessed, popular future nuns, but the happiest medium, the free, creative, joyful outcasts, merry to be in our own lonely little world.

We've been friends for such a long time, you and I.  We've gone through so much together, seen so much (be it the bad or good) together, had the strength to try and comfort one another together.  I can see us going on for the rest of our lives being friends.  You'll be in my wedding, baby showers, baptisms, graduations, everything.  I honestly can't imagine my life without you.  We've been friends for ten years, let's do it for another fifty.  You've always been there for me, and I do everything in my power to be there for you.  I honestly can't imagine my life without you.  We've been friends for ten years; let's keep it up for another fifty.  I love you like crazy, and please never leave my life.
