Deciding Your Own Fate

Deciding Your Own Fate

A Chapter by DavidRyanM

"I saw a kid die once," Roger said. "I looked into his eyes
afterwards. Felt his face. Everything just seemed false in that
moment." He shivered."What happened to him?" I asked.
"Wherever he went," Roger said,"It was too soon."

Really like the closing line in this one. Very ambiguous. Every decision we make does determine our fate. Too soon because the kid was young? Or too soon in a sense he made a fatal error? Brilliant.

Shivering at the description of feeling a dead person's face. Very nice touch, my friend. I like that it was a kid and not an adult, then reassuring that point with the last line. Dead people look like plastic after a while.

Short, simple and nicely crafted. You say a lot here without saying too much.

"I can't even it explain it."

Might want to fix that little slip, though. It was the only thing that pulled me out of the moment.
