Lock & Key

A Chapter by DavidRyanM

"Don't ever read my journal," she said. "Why?" I asked. "Will I learn

too much about you?"

"No," she said. "You'll learn too much about yourself."

This is awesome...For me I felt like it could be a funny retort from a best friend but you've left this open enough for the readers to make their own decision..It reminds me of Hemingway's short story of only six words "For sale: baby shoes, never worn." Of course readers will then ask themselves what happened to the baby. For me, I thought the worse because of past experiences and just like yours I did it again..Who are the two characters? Typically if someone gets a hold of another's diary it's usually a sibling but then again she's admitting the protagonist would learn too much about themselves so it could very well be a boyfriend etc ... Hmm I'm intrigued and strangely frustrated because now I would like to know the answers to my assumptions.

hm.. Interesting... I definitely wanna read more. Not how I would've done it but if we were all the same there'd be no fun in reading or writing.

you might wanna indent before the " 'Why?' " Just if you want to. :D

This is perfect to begin with. The quickness of it only adds to its severity, not to mention you have quite a way with titles.

it is hard to take in what others think of you. It changes your whole perspective on yourself and can even make you a bit paranoid. You can start to think "what if I am what they think I am?" Good beginning.

Simple, short and thought intriguing. This is my kind of writing.
