Court's Jester

I'm sitting on the bench with my hands between my legs and sandwiched in 

between two other people. The woman on my right asks, "What are you in for?"

I show her the piece of paper they gave me and say, "DUII." She nods and says,

"Manslaughter for me. Pretty much the same thing." I wait for her to laugh at

her own joke, but she doesn't. She just nods her head. Nodding her head. She

won't stop nodding her head.

Startling. This knocked me back a second, which is becoming increasingly difficult to do. Very somber, but I like what you can do with just a few lines. Etgar Keret would be jealous.
