Truthful Hypocrisy

Truthful Hypocrisy

A Chapter by DavidRyanM

"I'm glad we finally got the ban on smoking in bars," the old man said.

"Why?" his grandson asked him. "Do you go to bars?" The old man shook

his head and said, "Not at all. You kids just don't deserve the freedom

we fought for you to have. So we're taking back what's rightfully ours."

I feel like I have had this conversation before, and I think that is what makes it so good. It is also interesting that as a reader I can identify with both characters, that takes really great writing.

I've always wondered why old people can be so mean. Sometimes its just because they don't like change. Other times I guess its because they have seen too many rude young people. But that's not the kid's fault, its the parents.
