Chapter 28 of "Forever My Love."

“Are you okay?” Zach asked stepping out to the balcony with me.

“No.” I choked out. Even though there was only a foot of space between us he seemed to be miles away. I leaped into his arms almost knocking him over. My cries were muffled by his chest.

“Please, just stay here forever.” I begged. He rested his cheek on my head backing into my room with me still clinging to him. Finally he collapsed on my bed and turned on his side so my back was pressed against his chest.

“Forever and ever.” He whispered. Slowly my sobs stopped and Zach spoke.

“You’re parents are gone.” I looked up at him puzzled but I realized no one had tried to get in my room. Plus the house was dead quiet. I turned my head forward so I was staring at the wall again.

“Oh.” Zach stirred next to me till he was propped up on his arm. “What?!” I asked alarmed.

“Let’s go downstairs.” He said. I was confused but I let him drag me downstairs into the living room.

“Close your eyes.” He whispered placing both hands on my hips.

“If I do will you still be here when I open them?”

“Yes of course.” He whispered in my ear. I shut my eyes. When I felt his hands slip away I felt colder. Panic starting forming in my chest but I swallowed the urge to open my eyes. I heard movement and heard the TV on. Then after what seemed like an eternity before Zach said,

“Open your eyes” from across the room. I peered out of one eye and when I did I could’ve sworn I was dreaming.
