Chapter 32

A Chapter by Jemma Packman

Indigo walks towards an agrueing Gaz and Priscilla. Priscilla says "They weren't the rules."
Gaz says "Standard rules."
"Bullshit."
Indigo says "Should I ask?"
Gaz says "Where the hell have you been?"
"Talking to Summer."
Priscilla says "Is she ok?"
Gaz says "Of course she is. She's Summer. Anyway, we need help. It's important."
Indigo says "With what?"
"We need a ref."
"And that's important?"
In unison, Gaz and Priscilla say "Yes!"
"Must be cash involved. What was the game?"
Priscilla says "Mine sweep."
"And the argueing is because?"
"He's trying to change the rules."
Gaz says "No i'm not. She's not playong by them."
Indigo says "Points or no points?"
Priscilla says "No points."
Gaz says "Points. There's always points in a game."
"Not this one. You agreed to the rules before we started."
Indigo says "Which were?"
"As many as you can as quick as you can. No hurling."
"Gaz?" Gaz nods while staring at Priscilla. Indigo looks at the table. "Then it's a tie."
"Really?"
Gaz says "No winner?"
Indigo says "Really, no winner. Unless one of you is going to hurl?"
"That's not going to happen." Priscilla grabs Indigo's face and kisses her. "That's just not right." Indigo kisses Priscilla back. "Indigo, if you weren't my sister I'd be enjoying this."
Priscilla and Indigo stop kissing. Priscilla says "Still saying it's a tie?"
Indigo says "Yes."
"Why?"
"He's my brother."
"Fine. Tie it is. More drinks?"
Gaz says "I'll go. Yoy two girly chat while I'm gone."
Gaz heads towards the bar. "Out with it then."
Indigo says "I gave her an hour. Hang on." Indigo gets her phone out of her pocket, laughs and hands the phone to Priscilla. "Reat that."
Priscilla looks at the phone. "B***h. I like her."
"Well it's true. You did put a lot of effort into that."
"And you didn't?"
"Not really. Besides, like she sais, I don't have to save my energy."
"Tell her I've got plenty of stamina and I'll prove it to her if she wants." Indigo sends the message. "An hour for what?"
"To decide if she wants to be my friend."
"Friends? Please."
"What?"
"You don't want to be her friend. Admit it, you only kissed me back because she pushed you away. It's ok, I won't be offended."
"I hate how well you know me."
"So why?"
"If that's the only way I can get her to talk to me, I'll take it."
Indigo looks at her phone. "She accepting my offer?"
"Politely declining and will take your word for it."
Indigo starts sending a message. "You telling her what a good kisser I am?"
"I'm answering her question."
Gaz comes back with a tray of drinks, followed by a waiter also carrying a tray of drinks. The waiter clears the table of empty glasses, replacing them with the full ones, then leaves. Gaz says "Whose question?"
"Summer's."
"What question?"
"Hit, hug or kiss."
Priscilla says "What did you tell her?"
"To come find out."
"And that I'm a great kisser?"
"Why would I tell her that?"
"Scared of the competition?"
"I'm not going to lie to her."
"You know you wouldn't be."
Gaz says "Want a second opinion?"
Summer says "If she did, it shouldn't be from someone less qualified."
Gaz turns to Summer. "Want me to show you my qualifications?"
Before Summer can answer, Priscilla kisses her. Summer looks at Indigo. Indigo says "It's easier if you go with it."
Summer kisses Priscilla back. "Indigo?"
"Yeah?"
"That's what it's meant to look like. Let me get my phone."
Priscilla and Summer stop kissing. Priscilla says "Indigo, she's better than you."
"Do I get to compete?"
"We'll see." Priscilla grabs Gaz's hand. "Come on, we're dancing."
Priscilla drags Gaz to the dancefloor. Summer says "Indigo, about that?"
Indigo says "Don't panic. Priscilla didn't mean anything by it."
"So why she do it?"
"I wouldn't tell her she was a good kisser and you had turned her down. She was proving a point."
"Thank God for that." Indigo laughs. "Why wouldn't you tell her she was good?"
"You think she needs an ego boost?"
"Guess not." Summer and Indigo laugh. "So..."
"You made it."
"I did."
"You still in your dream state thing?"
"only when I look at you."
"Good to know." Indigo hits Summer across the back of the head. "That's for leaving me." Indigo hugs SUmmer. "This is because I'm happy to see you. And this." Indigo pulls back and kisses Summer. Summer kisses Indigo back. Indigo pulls away. "I missed you."
"I missed you." Indigo grabs a couple of drinks and passes one to Summer. Summer takes it. "Thanks. So do you kiss all your friends like that?"
"Would it bother you if I did?"
"Not if I was one of them."
"Is that what you want?"
"Isn't it whant you want?"
"You think we could be friends after a kiss like that?"
"Indi, you don't know me anymore. Everything has changed."
"That include how you felt about me?"
Summer puts her drink down and puts her hand on Indigo's cheek. "No. That has never changed."
Indigo puts her hand over Summer's. "Then can we focus on that? At least for now?"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Don't you want to?"
Summer kisses Indigo. "What do you think?"
Indigo kisses Summer.
