Poem 12. The Vow

Poem 12. The Vow

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

And until tomorrow, we will be sailing In this sea of life Through tides and waves We’ll sail Holding each others' hand.

"

Five years of waiting

For our hearts to unite

The vow we made

Was not that clear at the start

For we are both young

And our hearts seem entwined

From  the glory of singleness.

We walked, we talked,

We made love with our uncertainties

But in the end it’s our love

Which prevailed.

Though chances are not that kind

And time is so hasty in taking its part

To make a change,

To modify us

But our hearts are fully united,

Bounded by the vow

 that once we made

and will forever be the promise

we have to take care of

like a glass that should not be broken.

Our love is that gold

Put it in fire but still won’t change

And until tomorrow, we will be sailing

In this sea of life

Through tides and waves

We’ll sail

Holding each others' hand.

"But our hearts are fully united,

Vows are made to give the relationship a spiritual or legalistic dimension but the vows of the hearts are enough but humans need those formalities any way...A very good write and read...:)
