Poem 14. THE BRIDE

Poem 14. THE BRIDE

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

Taking Body Measurements: An important process in fashion

"

There's once a crazy bride-to-be

Who wishes to make her wedding dress

Without anyone to let it see

She never thinks  it would be a mess!

Seeing a blurred, old model’s pic

She cut the fabric, sew by herself

She never measure, never fit

Never ask for anyone’s help.

And then the day of wedding comes

She sets  to dress herself alone

What a misfortune, what a shame

Her gown’s that tight, cannot be worn!

So she asks one of  the brides maids

To wear the gown and play like her

The wedding goes and then it ends

With the crazy bride so full of tears.

As the groom tastes the  sweetest kiss

Of her  new bride, they flee  and vanish.

Wow. This one sounds like a sad story in a poetic form although it is about measuring dresses or gowns of weddings. Always you come up with creative things...:)

this piece is funny yet equally sad (how could that be, i don't know. lol). it reminded me of our long tradition not to try your wedding dress otherwise the wedding will not push through. but the opposite happened in this case.
mmmm. the brides maid must be her twin sister =). even then, the groom must have realized that he's kissing the wrong girl but instead they flee..ouch naman. but i think the supposed to be bride was not also sure of marrying the guy. hence, she made an excuse about the dress.

how sad ~ i knew there is a little humor on it ~ but the sad fate ~ a husband that easily got swayed ~ well it was never meant to be ~ but reality check ~ the husband should know the one he kiss was not the one, but he continued anyway and run away ~ sad really... but really good rhyme... and great poem!

I am of the age that friends and cousins are marrying off and finding dresses.
funny and strange- thoughts of those who get all worked up over their up-coming big day.
