Poem 53. Unfaithful

Poem 53. Unfaithful

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

(Another piece…as requested by a friend)

"

The day I met you was the day I found my heart-

I found it breathing and beating

I heard it singing

I saw it smiling

I felt it’s joy

With you.

You-

It’s you who made me smile

It’s you who made me laugh

It’s you who made me live

Yesterday.

Yes, only yesterday

When you and I were so free

To tap each others’ shoulder

To hug each other tightly

To laugh at each joke

To sing and dance

In the music of our souls

As one.

And now…

Do I have to open my eyes

To see how different you are from yesterday?

Do I have to pretend that we are both happy

Singing and dancing while our hearts are full of gloom

Colder than ice

For the love was gone

And what remain are the memoirs

Of your unfaithful love?

Wow, this is simply amazing, Dhaye...this really tugged at my heart strings.
Spectacular use of eloquent imagery depicting the honesty of
One's love, their heart slowly realizing the disillusionment, reality' s callous
Slap across the face when coming to terms of being betrayed by someone
You really trust and give them all you have, mind, heart, soul to.

Very relatable, most of us walking down that road, some having/had to walk
Down that road one too many times. Till they realize, they're better off w/o them.

Wonderful use of rhyme, and choice of words and meter. Brilliant job.
Thanks for sharing :)
