Love Happens (While You Sit There)

to a statue I saw once

 

While you sit there…..

Orion shares the glory

Of Trillion stars shinning bright.

The desert recites

      to lovers,

telling tales in Time

of a Thousand Nights

and a Night.

 

While you sit there

dawn dances in daring hues,

virgin violets;

                    moving mauves,

                                      and a backdrop;

a sax playing the blues.

 

While you sit there,

Wandering waves

       caress lover’s feet,

            walking hand-in-hand,

on a bed of sensuous sand.

While you sit there

 

A swan dances with a swan,

a blackbird sings,

      a flower blossoms,

                a maple leaf falls.

                                                 

                               While you sit there,

               Love happens

and Life goes on.

I envisioned a person sitting somewhere, feeling sorry for themselves -- for whatever the reason -- perhaps a broken heart, loneliness -- and in the meantime -- life is dancing in circles around them and they are missing out -- by their lack of willingness to move forward -- to try again. A statute.

Wonderfully expressed. And I love the flow of this piece; the imagery is lovely...

All these wonderful images, that happen while we do not see.........the end was sheer beauty, love does happen every day, and life goes on........your descriptions were stunning, and made me feel very emotional.

. awwwwwwwwww ... that's beautifully surreal and magical ... you've etched the most vivid images on my soul ... it's one of the most exquisite love songs i've ever read ... it's exotic too ... of course, life goes on ... but it's never the same without love ... and if it goes on ... that's also because of love ... em helps me go on ... my existence is all her fault ... :P ...

The imagery expressed in this soulful write has me swooning! There are many beautiful images that I have lingering in my spirit......desert sands, Arabian Nights, Orion, trillions of stars - universe, virgin violets, moving mauves.......I am completely swept away by this poem! It wouldn't matter if I fully understood the meaning or not, I am held captive by the words!

It is ironic how life seems to just stop after the end of a relationship. It's like going through the different fazes of emotions after a death. You expressed these emotions very well in your write, with an easy flow. I enjoyed this piece even though it was a sad write. P.W.
